Sanji brutally beats Luffy while attempting to communicate with him, but Luffy is unable to do so and is ultimately knocked unconscious. After Luffy stated that they required him, Sanji suddenly broke down in tears. 

Despite the Straw Hats’ internal fighting, it is one of the saddest episodes in the entire run. It is especially tragic because Sanji was forced to leave his crewmates because of his father’s threats.
